Living With Nature

Deer Ticks

We have all heard a lot about the apparent increase in Deer Ticks.  The Deer Tick (aka Black Legged Tick) Is found throughout our area from the time the snow leaves the ground until it returns.  They may slow down and possibly die in very hot, dry summer conditions but some of them are still there peak season is in the fall.  Prevention is the best policy. The Deer Tick now carries Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis disease, Babesiosis disease, and Powassan virus.
